Trader Joe’s & BBQ?

It’s Friday and I’m chilling with the kids. No school for the next couple days, and Disney+ just loaded up a ton of new movies. This is the perfect time for “movie night“! I don’t know about y’all, but my favorite spot for snacks is good ole Trader Joe’s! Whether we’re stocking up for a road trip, or just feel like binging on some dark chocolate peanut butter cups… TJ’s is snack paradise. While walking the aisles I noticed a few items that weren’t on my list, but always on my radar. Barbecue products!

I added a couple rubs, spices and sauces to my cart & brought them back to the crib to try. Here are my notes and honest feedback.

Trader Joe’s BBQ Rub and Sesoning

  • Loaded with coffee grounds & garlic, which make for awesome BBQ bark. I tried it on chicken and found that it’s a little intense for poultry. I’d definitely use it with beef though.

Trader Joe’s Salmon Rub

  • A very minimal fish seasoning that includes brown sugar and smoked paprika. Awesome for color and doesn’t overpower the salmon’s natural flavor. They went very light on the salt, so I’d add in some additional kosher salt to dial it in.

Trader Joe’s Organic Sriracha and Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce

  • This was my favorite product from the hall! Sweet, spicy, and savory! Far from your traditional BBQ sauce. I could definitely use this regularly. This really shines as a finishing sauce/glaze.

It was fun to mix it up try these. While TJ’s might not be my go-to spot for all things barbecue, they definitely have a few options for the backyard warriors to try!
